Fuel News & Therapy

-- Quote of the Day --

“If you go in as a therapist without knowing a thing about {their situation}, but go in as an expert - what you are doing is converting them to your way of thinking, making them little “you’s” and the horror of that is they have to stay with you for the rest of their lives. …The real goal of therapy is to make yourself useless to the person, where they will no longer need you – because you are not {a therapist} for yourself. …Abuse is when someone takes away the power of another, often without that person being aware their power is taken away… or they give it away willingly... One person stealing power from another… There is a deception going on, the person is convincing the victim that their actions are for their own good. …they not only hide it, but when it comes to the kids they make excuses for it. …It often starts with a trained dependence on another. There are all kinds of abuse, but emotional abuse is the most prevailing.”

Keeping waste oil in the recycling loop is a big concern, since only a small amount can wreak havoc on the environment. According to the EPA there are about 200 million gallons of used oil disposed of by pouring out on the ground, sending to the landfill or pouring down the drains. There are lots of collection sites available for people to choose from - including mechanics shops, or automobile parts/services and supply shops.  For those of us in BC we can go to www.usedoilrecycling.com/bc to find guidelines and collections sites.

There’s been a really interesting technological advancement for on-site recycling that was produced by Global Recuperation – this process is highly refined, much more efficient and includes advances like a reusable, self-cleaning filter.

Used oil is typically processed, cleaned and re-sold as a variety of lubricants and low-level fuel oils or used in the refining and petrochemical industries.
