Rainy Weather & Stadium Energy

-- Quote of the Day --

The great lesson . . . is that the sacred is in the
ordinary, that it is to be found in one’s daily

life, in one’s neighbors, friends, and family, in

one’s backyard.”
    Abraham Maslow

-- First Day of Winter --

Today is the official first day of winter - just when rain is predicted for the xmas season! -lol- Well, I suppose this means there will be lots of snow... in the mountains. Having dogs, when it rains they also get wet - and muddy - and bring that into our house, increasing the work load. However, they are both really patient and will stay by the door to get toweled dry and have their feet wiped off... most of the time!

I'd like to encourage our readers to download any of the nearly 400 archived interviews and educational discussions from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio show in preparation for the 2011 season. Many of our listeners tell us they enjoy downloading the shows to their listening device of choice and they take that with them when traveling, commuting to work, walking the dogs and so on. It is a great way to feel connected to what is going on in the world, and access helpful resources, information and personal insight.

Check out this interesting experiment for alternative energy sources:

I'm sure you've heard of energy experts being able to capture the energy from the braking systems of vehicles and bicycles - well, another breakthrough is being experimented with right now. This one involves a power-generating floor system - The system, which converts the vibrations caused by fans jumping during the game into electricity, has been installed beneath 24 seats in one stadium so far as an experiment. This system has been refined and can now detect more vibration because of enlarged piezoelectric elements in the floor units. Now that's innovation!
