Alternative Energy & Innovations

-- Quote of the Day --

The littlest good deed
Is better than
The biggest intention.

It is wonderful to see so many big companies jumping on board with the Zero Waste Initiatives:

Kudos to the company known as "GM"...who now has 76 landfill-free facilities - meaning these zero waste facilities do not produce any garbage that is sent to a landfill. In total, this company has about 145 of these facilities and have reached its 2008 goal of converting 50% of their plants to zero waste. Reuse and Recycling have been the focus of their waste reduction.

Chevrolet, too, is reaching toward a more sustainable business by their plans to invest forty million dollars in clean energy projects with the end goal of reducing 8 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

We celebrate these efforts and encourage our readers to look for ways that they too can improve the "green" efforts at their own desks.

Cyclone Power Technologies - a research and development company focused on helping solve two of the great problems of our time: our dependence on fossil fuels, and the resulting unsustainable consequences to our environment. These technologies are very flexible in the fuels they can use from "fuels derived from orange peels, palm oil, cottonseed oil, algae, used motor oil and fryer grease, as well as traditional fossil fuels.  ..also burned propane, butane, natural gas and even powdered coal." Learn about Fossil Fuels and modern Cyclone Motor technologies, including a new snow mobile that doesn't emit any pollution at all!) at:

Marathon Equipment - this company now offers an interesting solar powered trash and recycling bin alternative, this one comes with a flashing light, offers bear proofing and sends a signal to the staff when the bin is full. This is a great alternative for rural and park facility applications, since the trucks have a long trip to go out and check to see if a bin needs to be emptied. Reducing the number of trips that trucks make help the system run more efficiently, while reducing fuel consumption and related air pollution.
