Chronic Pain/Depression

-- Quote of the Day --

"You wake up in the morning, and your purse is magically filled with 24 hours of unmanufactured tissue of the universe of your life! It is yours. It is the most precious of possessions. No one can take it from you. And no one receives either more or less than you receive. "

~ Thomas Bennett

-- Conscious Discussions Talk Radio --

Our guest today – Howard Schubiner  - works with a Mind Body Medicine Center where the focus is on helping people overcome chronic pain as well as anxiety, fatigue and depression. Most people don't realize that cutting edge neuroscience has demonstrated that learned nerve pathways that can be “unlearned” primarily cause these conditions. His book, Unlearn Your Pain, contains the science behind these concepts as well as a 4-week program to retrain the brain for healing. Howard also recently contributed a chapter to the Standard Alternative Medicine Textbook this year.  Howard Schubiner is the MD Director at the Mind Body Medicine Center, Providence Hospital, Southfield,  and the MI Clinical Professor at the Wayne State University School of Medicine Pager

  1. I have come to that conclusion. My sister has celiac disease but would not go out into the sunshine because she burnt easily. My mother, as a young child, suffered from TB and almost died – she was saved by basically being sent to a hospital in the 1920s where she was given plenty of sunshine and sun-lamps. I have reached the conclusion that my family are genetically predisposed to needing high levels of D3 and that low levels of D3 results in my family asthma, celiac & other illnesses.
