Of Reuse and Writing

-- Quote of the Day --

“The wisest thing that anyone said to me was that writing is a labor of love. You do it because you love it and you want to tell your story. You don’t do it for monetary gain – if you are lucky enough to make a living at this great industry, then that is wonderful. But there is just something about writers that says I just want to share what I know, my story, my experiences… so we are givers, we just want to give something of ourselves.”

~ Nancy Gebhardt

Today’s quote originates from the Conscious Discussions Talk Radio episode that aired back on Nov 15… titled: Family Literacy

-- Positive News --

We received a copy of a wonderful article written by Amy Bowes of the Boulder Daily Newspaper via email and was quite inspired by what it had to say.

The article  reported on the Jamestown Elementary school who started a Green Star program that includes recycling everything possible, reuse, reduce and a large composting system for all their food waste and non-recyclable paper waste.

The program is so very successful that this small school was able to produce less than a pound of trash every single day – and this allowed them to rent out the extra space in their dumpster to their neighbors.

-- Conscious Living Event --

The San Diego Fallbrook County is putting on a ReUse Fair to coincide with its upcoming Fallbrook Community Recycling Event on Saturday, Jan 12, 2013.

The Reuse event will be held at the Fallbrook High School (San Diego, CA - USA) from 9AM to 1PM Pacific.

Attendees will find vendors showcasing their talents in the genres of reuse, repair and recycling - through their business, hobbies, art, etc.
