Theme of the day - Food

Our choice of what we order from restaurants or menu choice at home has a huge impact on local economy and impacts the entire globe, in fact. Many of us have already read that reducing the amount of meat we consume per meal can improve our health, reduce household and medical costs, and reduce our personal contribution to both the landfill and to the environment as a whole. Just a few weeks ago I wrote a brief article here on the blog re: food waste. You'll find I'm passionate about that topic and have done many interviews, articles, book chapters, radio shows and of course blog posts on the topic. Similarly with gardening and food production. I encourage you to take the time to search through old blog posts or do your own search online on these topics.

Long-time followers will have already witnessed our transitions from my vegetarian to our both eating meat, to our both being vegetarian and for a short time vegan... Today we have a happy balance of eating small portions of meat in our menu plan, reducing most recipes by more than 1/2 in the amount of meat they call for. Everyone, every body type, every personality, every nation, and even where you are located - everyone is different as to what they can and are willing to do regarding food choice. So it is important to never judge ourselves on this journey.
